High School Teams
We support our local high school and middle school mountain bike teams. There are many teams in Temecula Valley who are part of the High School SoCal Dirt League. “The SoCal High School Cycling League was organized in 2008 to provide a well-defined race season for high school student athletes and to promote the formation of teams at public and private high schools. In 2014 that grew to include a middle school program designed to introduce middle school aged riders to the sport of mountain biking focused heavily on skills, fun, fitness, and responsibility with a taste of the competitive aspects of mountain biking. With the cooperation of local race promoters and our sponsors we produce a first class series of races in addition to providing training for coaches and riders. The League is working to make high school racing the easiest way for youth to get involved in the challenging and exciting world of competitive cycling.” (from the SoCal High School Cycling League website)
City of Temecula
The City of Temecula is a bicycle-friendly community and has been recognized by the League of American Cyclists as a Bronze level Bicycle Friendly Community for four years in a row (2013-2017). Safety tips and maps of bike trails throughout the city can be found on the City’s website.
Seasonal Food Drive
One of the ways The Bike Shop stays involved in the community is by sponsoring seasonal food and/or clothing drives which benefit local people in need. The items are donated to a local charity for distribution.
Temecula Bike Train
The Temecula Bike Train is a group that organizes events for local elementary school students as well as providing a free service where kids meet up at a predetermined location and ride in groups to their respective schools. Temecula Bike train is currently a weekly ride at Paloma Elementary, Ysabel Barnett Elementary, and Temecula Elementary School.
At The Bike Shop, we all race and we support the local racers. You will find us coaching young riders through NICA and our shop rides.
